  • A white bouganvilla with a red bouganvilla graft. This tree was perhaps 30' tall and totally in bloom. Spectacular!

  • The eastern edge of the hotel property. The Bay of Bengal extends for hundreds of miles beyond the railing. The tsunami five years earlier destroyed six cottages and inundated the area shown in this picture, but the trees survived and the pavement cleaned up well. The normal-size swimming pool barely visible on the right took a major hit and had to be rebuilt. Today, except for some broken sections of sea wall, there is no sign that the tsunami ever hit the area.
