  • Our base of operations in London. Officially, The Montague on the Gardens, was built in 1810 and became a hotel in 1928. It is now a part of the Red Carnation chain. It has an interesting history available at MontagueHotel.com. It is opposite the east wall of the British Museum, and a short walk from Russell Square.

  • Plaques like this are on many buildings. They are placed there by English Heritage, an historical organization. The plaques date back to 1866. The commemorated person must have been dead for at least 20 years.
  • Sometimes a window is just a window. This one, though, is in Bertrand Russel's building.
